We are leaving sunday from this place, going on sabbatical fer awhile. Work, passions, travel, family, friends, ceremonies new experiences beckon. We thank all who partook of our feeble attempts at writing n expressions of self. We shall see you next year I reckon. Here's wishing you all the Highest Good in all your endeavors.
"Q: Is there any such thing as a bad darshan?
MM: There is no such thing as a bad darshan. To think so is wrong, harmful, and dangerous. Darshan is completely impersonal from my side; I give what is needed. Reactions depend upon the people who take, not the Mother who give. Try not to impose on me your own hidden problems. Have the courage to face your own weaknesses and know that I am giving you help continually."
The picture is of a Lakota fella from around 1880's. Before U.S. government outlawed native American practices (native spiritual practices were restored, made legal to the people in 1975). It is a slightly rigorous ceremony dedicated to sacrifice and prayer fer others. We fasted this last weekend (some folks call it vision questing), anyway, Amma had shared it would be good to take a few years off before resuming practicing our own way Has been awesome. So we are off to pick up where we left off... my vacation is rapidly drawing to a close. We will see folks, that are close to the heart, that we have not seen fer 5, 6, 7 years, and it will be like no time or distance has separated us. Is the same here, there is no such thing as time or distance where the heart lives.
Q: Isn't climbing a mountain, with many different paths at the bottom that begin to merge when you approach the summit?
MM:Yes. And when you get to the top of the mountain, then you must go down again and help others up, according to their capacities and strength. There is no rest in this work; the highest serves most lovingly; the wisest listens best; the one who has seen gives his whole life to help others to see. This is the Divine way.
Q: I want to devote my life to you, Mother Meera!
MM: It is not necessary to devote or believe in me. If you are sincere to your guru, master, God, Absolute or to the Divine, it is enough and I will strengthen your faith. Finally, if you believe in God, that is enough for me. I suggest that you do your job and your duties wholeheartedly and joyfully and bring peace and happiness in your family and surroundings: do Japa, the chanting or repeating of the name of God (or whatever you believe in) and ask for whatever you want If you need my help I will help you, whatever path you may follow. For me there is no difference, All paths lead to the same goal, that is, to realize the Divine.
Q: What should I do with my negative feelings?
MM: You can offer all good and bad to me. It is better not to dwell on the wrong things you have done; you must go on and try to do better next time. Hating bad people will not change them - loving them changes them.
