I finally caught up on my sleep last night.

Two days ago, I literally broke down and cried in front of my INDIAN MALE roommates to be quiet after 10PM; I'm a very light sleeper with light and voice sensitivity.

I started a new job on 10/15 with ridiculous work hours starting at 6AM. I'm slowly adjusting to the new hours, but it is killing me! With the recent lack of sleep, I find myself agitated, angry, puffy eyed, etc... My co-workers can see my difficulties in adjusting.

I would not trust anyone that doesn't cry. My sister..was always strong..to the point that I thought she was some kind of robot. I saw her cry once..and it truely humbled me... I was ashamed to think that I thought she was above that kind of humility. To cry helps u become a stronger person....doesn't necessarily make u weak or weaker.

THANK YOU FOR SHARING! I literally thought I was losing my mind. I'm okay now, but it took a good cry to make me realize this. WOW!

I'm not acclimated, yet, to the time change. A party would be nice, though.

Crying is not such a bad thimg for health. I had read somewhere that since females can cry they are not affected by stress as much as the males.

But the insensitivity on the part your room mates is rather unwanted.

Thank you, Rose. I cried today when Harshit left (his project ended and he moved to Dallas). I'm okay for now.

I thought crying was good for the health.

You do know that statistically those in US live longer than those in India.

IT'S OKAY (and healthy) TO CRY!

I hate getting up too early myself. If any one dares he/she had it.
I am not a heavy sleeper (I sleep like a dead rock), when I am tired or have a lack of sleep. You can say, it is another of my favorite past times. lol. I go by the rule that one must sleep for atleast 8 hours of day to keep your heart healthy. No wonder, I am so romantic.

I'm slowly getting used to these early hours. I think it is harder for the roommates.

This weekend, I'm moving Yed over to the master bed's bathroom. I am putting a microwave and small refrigerator in the master bedroom, as well. These guys (master bedroom and single bedroom occupants) have such weird late hours. I figure they can keep each up instead of me.

LOL, But the fact remains that what you can do in the first 2 hours of the earky morning, you cannot do it throughout the day. I mean there is more concentration and you complete your jobwork in a short time.

Here's my AM "house work routine" before leaving for work:

Get Fifi fresh water
Get Fifi fresh food
Clean Fifi's liter box
Wash or soak previous roommates dishes (depends on what they ate)
Shower, brush teeth, wash face and get dressed for work
Take trash out (on way to car for work)

Here's my PM "house work routine" after coming home from work:

Get Fifi fresh water
Get Fifi fresh food
Clean Fifi's liter box
Finish dishes from roommates
Change clothes
Wash face and brush teeth

There is about two hours per day that I devote to Fifi and others. I don't mind about the Fifi part. I do wish the roommates helped with the garbage, washing dishes... in general... doing household work... vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bathrooms, washing the mirrors...

My job seems easy compared to my home life.

Yeah you sure sound like a housewife, rather than a working woman. Being in Mumbai, I am sure we are lucky to afford a domestic help, to do the washing, sweeping, toilets and garbage job for us. But we all members have a practise to do our own jobs like, clean and put the plates in the sink, wash our own undergarments, clean our own rooms, etc. Life becomes easy, when work is shared, and you show your room mates this message in order to pep them to contribute to your work load at home. I have learnt that life is not easy to anyone across the world, every one has his / her own share of problems. So far we have been thinking that the grass on the other side of the fence was greener.....lol

Oddly, I have carpet in my kitchen. The roommates get food stains on my white carpet.

I've gotten on my hands and knees to scrub the kitchen carpet twice. The funny part is watching the roommates go into the kitchen and freak out because the carpet is wet.

Having a maid in the USA is more expensive than domestic servants in India. Therefore, most Americans clean their own home. We call these "chores" which are usually divided equally amongst the household. Most families give an $$ allowance on a weekly basis for helping with chores, usually dispersed by the parents to their children.

By law, there is a minimum wage which varies from State to State. Illinois is higher than the Federal standards. Illinois employers are required to pay between $7.75-$8.25 USD per hour for a 40 hour work week to employees.

I'm down to one roommate, so the cleaning has been cut down drastically. Yed cleans up after himself. He's from Ivory Coast, Africa. I guess it's a different mentality worldwide.

You are such a tease.

I'd be your servant if you lived in America. I'd wear one of those sexy maid outfits, too, with the dust broom.

I'm better now. The demon spawns have all moved out. I just have Yed living here. Nemo is supposed to move in one of these days; he's still in India. Nemo is super cool. He's young, so I hope to seduce him in a timely manner.

No, your honour is dear to me. I'll be over the moon to have you as by girlfriend. I feel blessed that I now have a friend like you.

I have a feeling we'd be soul mates for the rest of our lives. Strange, but I think it true.

I think I have a solution... in my case. I've divided the condo up into two parts... one side male and one side female. I've got all "luxury" items located on either half, except the small refrigerator on the male side. There is nothing that separates us, except the silly refrigerator. I have to save some monies to afford the stupid "thing" to finally get my sleep. I'm working extra hours to get this issue resolved.
