I volunteered to work on Thanksgiving, so another will be able to spend time with their families in the USA. I don't have to do this, but I choose to do it. I want others to be happy for the Holidays. If no one volunteers to work, then my company "forces" people to work. This is the norm for every company I've ever worked for, so I volunteer each year to help ease the pain.

If I were a mean person, then I could file a law suit against the person, Trish, above. She sexually harrassed me at UAL. I reported it and documented it every step of the way, but nothing was ever done. I finally got tired of her advances and my disadvantages. Nothing was ever done to her, but everything was done to me. I felt raped at a company that I loved and spent almost 10 years with... I will never forgive this person, Trish, for making my life a living hell while at United. I do forgive UAL.

But still in my books the best way is to look for areas where you could have done better at that time to control the cause and effect and make a note of it. This is one way of turning a pain into a strength.
