Bella, great post as usual.

Music has been my very first love as well and remain constant.

As in a song lyrics they say: Only Love can make a memory

Love hurts most time, and I can say for myself, every time I feel like burn up my skin. But then skin has the unique ability to recover and be ready for the next burn. But then 'skin never forgets'. What would life be without those life lessons?? Just a dull existence.

Thank you soo much for the lovely lines. They just match with my mood.

YD

thank you YD, thank you!

It's funny how music is constantly changing but at the same time it somehow manages to remain the same. Like a friend who's always there, you can count on music to help you through the best that life can dish out - as well as the worst. It's just another one of the great blessings in my life.

Have a wonderful day!

I think it is a generally loved gift... from the darkest heart to the most beautiful. Some feed off music to inspire moods.. to inspire creativity... to soothe .. to celebrate.. to honor... to conspire and/or unite... separate and/or to rebel.

OMG prag, you seem to be the resident expert on the Cranberries here. I definitely have to tip my hat to you! You could have been one of those stalker type groupies judging from what I just read - and for all I know, maybe you were!

For me .. I just love their sound. I don't really know any of their songs that well .. with the exception of "Linger" of course, but that one song is all I need. I just close my eyes and imagine a slow dance with that someone special ..
♪♪♥ cause you know I'm such a fool for him .. he's got me wrapped around his finger .. and I love it .. and I love it .. and I love it when he lingers ♪♪♥ (my own improv)!

Thanks for sharing a brief history of the band with me here pragster! It was great reading.

well said rachelle .. music DEFINITELY inspires creativity. In fact listening to the lyrics of a song has often helped inspire me to write stories that feed directly off the melody itself.

I remember there used to be this radio program which would come on around 10PM (this would have been around the time I was working later hours on the Asia/Pacific project with TravelClick. If I remember correctly that would have been around February-May of 2006). Well anyway the host of this show had the most incredible voice I'd ever heard .. very deep and soothing. The kind of voice that you could listen to once and instantly feel as though revealing the most intimate details of your life was the most natural thing in the world. Cause no matter what - he would listen without judging .. and he would sympathize and he would understand. It didn't even matter whether you had met him or not (most listening probably never would) .. he just had one of those voices.

Anyways .. this man would invite his listeners to call in to the show and share their life experiences with those who were tuned in at the time. There were stories of long lost lovers finding each other again after years spent apart, stories of lives that had gone desperately off track but were given renewed hope and strength with the help of what I like to call "earth angels". Tales of regret and despair and tales of divine second chances. Tales of folks who had lost it all and yet found a way to the light. Love lost and love found ... re-unions with those who had passed on .. and inspiring tales of love that would never die. And yet the most incredible thing I found .. was that this man had a knack of taking the stories, and setting them to music. Finding exactly the right song and letting the melody wrap itself around their words. It was amazing to me that someone could have such a great talent and that he had found such a fantastic way to share it with others.

So you see in the end ... music really does provide the soundtrack to our lives. A warm and wonderful tapestry that makes each day worth living.
