Early Sesame Street was cutting edge, calling it a children's programme would be doing it a grave disservice. RIP Jim Henson.  He was the irascible, irreverent Kermit and Bert who became part of my personality. I met him in 1987 during our local film festival. I have the photo somewhere with me looking horrific with my 80s hair.

Oh the good ol' days of Sesame Street...Ernie and Bert looking for their phone ...Ernie talking into a banana...the daily word...big bird going to the doctors for his shots and getting a cute lil band aid telling all the kids how easy it was...the ManaMana song (1969 I think)...Oscar the grouch...Kermit and Miss Piggy....sigh....and now...it's all RAP and bongs and how to be "cool" i.e. disrespectful... How dare they pass it off as a childrens program?I agree with RDT... @ Jim Henson...RIP...
