Brief and to the point - Guru Nanak perhaps was the first one who recognised the need for secularism in those troubled times and bonded Hinduism and Islam into a kind of INDIANISM which is what I call Sikhism.

That he was a great human being is beyond any scope of doubt or guess work. I believe all politicians must be put through a regimen of his teachings/parables so that they stop exploiting differences to cause divisions and be in power.

There is also no doubt that many in Sikh clergy have forsaken the GUru's teachings as have many of the various clergy men in various other religions. May such clergymen suffer the Guru's wrath for correction of their ways.
