In a startling investigative report on militant Abhinav Bharat outfit of Indian Hindu fanatics, Indian newsweekly ‘Outlook’ has disclosed that one of its loyalists had raised a “suicide commando squad” of “dedicated Maharashtrian youth to be covertly deployed inside Pakistan”. Abhinav Bharat, openly dedicated to hate and terrorism, is rabidly anti-Muslim and is avowedly committed to transforming India into a Hindu state, where non-Hindus could either convert or live as second-class citizens with no voting rights or just leave the country to reside elsewhere. The fanatical outfit has its strongholds in the Indian states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh but is believed to be spreading out to other parts of India as well. It has its activists scattered all over the country. Mumbai, the state capital of Maharashtra, limping back to life after last week’s deadly terrorist assault, serves as its headquarters. According to the newsweekly, Abhinav Bharat has made deep inroads into the Indian military too. It wants the Indian armed forces to be reconstituted in “Bharatiya traditions” and renamed as Bharatiya Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence re-designated as the “Ministry of War”. Its activists have also been found indulging in anti-Pakistan activities.
