It was this Sunday morning when as usual routine I was flipping the pages of the newspaper... N i just got stuck on a news flash which read that a "Woman was hit by car and she was lying in a pool of blood, slowly bleeding to death, there were thousands of cars, onlookers passing by, maybe in a rush to reach work or something, however no one stopped to help her, no one extended that helping hand. She finally died cause of excess bleeding"... I felt terribly sorry and ashamed of being an Indian, an Indian who would not help a fellow Indian, an Indian who has lost sense of humanity, Fuck you all hypocrites cause god forbid if this happens with your dear ones you would understand the agony of that woman's family....!!!

This is rather tragic, i am rather shocked to read this blog. Pray that Indians do change their thinking and remedial action should have been taken in right earnest.

Hi, maverick! A sad story indeed I can say: me and my daughter were blessed for we both got ppl around to help us. For 2 years while we were on vacation she went to the beach alone, old enough with 16, on the beach, while getting sunbath, she tried to go to the sea and have a swimm, felt suddenly dizzy and fall down. They were several people around, who help and gave her cold water, even brought her an ice cream This year something similar happened 39 degrees outside, no AC in the bus, she collapsed, they stopped the bus, took her out and did call emergency, after that called me to take her from there. Next day, the guy who did call to inform me did call again to ask if she was ok. Few days after, same story to me. Immediatelly 3 ppl came to help and ask if I was ok. I am soo thankful, me and her got such guardian angels. Sad this girl didnt have any. She might be alive today after few days hospital.

Recently I was walking in San Francisco, CA with an Indian friend. A woman fell down and immediately people stopped to help her. My friend, who is from India, told me that in India that would not happen. I asked, Why Not? He told me that in India, if someone helps another when hurt or sick the police will come and assume immediately that the helper was the one who hurt the person, so nowadays people have been conditioned Not to help in order to save themselves from possible trouble from the authorities...Seems like a sad state of affairs to me!
