Make love not war was a phrase/slogan commonly associated with the American counterculture of the 1960s. Initiated when mystic John Starr Cooke donated fifty dollars to artist Michael Bowen to get the slogan made into bumper stickers. It was used primarily by those who were opposed to the Vietnam War. The slogan was featured in John Lennon's 1973 song Mind Games. It has since resurfaced in the context of opposition to the Iraq War.

I silenced the cell phone twice with calls from my birth father. Why is my birth father calling me after so many years of silence? I called my birth mother, who is now divorced from my birth father, to contact him and ask why? I don't want to speak to him. She's agreed to be my interpretor.
Long story short, my father's parents raised me shortly after my parents divorced. I was very young. I was raised like an only child, even though I have 3 other blood siblings. We just didn't grow up the same way. It's very confusing. I have 2 more half siblings from my father and new step mom.
I volunteered to work on Thanksgiving, so another will be able to spend time with their families in the USA. I don't have to do this, but I choose to do it. I want others to be happy for the Holidays.
If no one volunteers to work, then my company "forces" people to work. This is the norm for every company I've ever worked for, so I volunteer each year to help ease the pain.
