This is a question I have seen people asking on sites when somebody start criticizing their country. Any idea why BBC, CNN etc show their programs worldwide for free? Why do sites provide free limited access to their sites for the general public? Why do sites provide their stuff in local languages around the world? I think they want to maximize their viewership (Anyway, not everyone is paying)
Well.. The share markets are crashing all over the place. Even though the USD is appreciating against other currencies, I think it is temporary. Time people started searching for keywords like Hyper inflation etc.
Just like those hurricanes.. You can't prevent it. All you can do is take precautions and wait it out..
For the silver lining, this is going to give an opportunity of a life time for the smart and watchful people.
Order or patterns make things beautiful. Art is beautiful. But how do you account for modern art being liked by people? There are people who like 'noisy' (I am sorry. No disrespect meant. I am not familiar with the genres of music as such in western terms like heavy metal etc) music, those admiring paintings which majority of people don't make head or tail of...
In the case of modern art, is it that chaos make for beauty? Or is it that there is a pattern which others cannot identify? Keep in mind that there is order in things which otherwise appear irregular in the physical world. It depends on how closely you look at it or how far away you are from something you are observing.
(This is posted in mag too. I might alter this post later. Right now I am a bit busy)
The US war in Iraq is the second longest it fought after Vietnam. In terms of cost, it stands second only to the WW2. The cost in money terms vary widely. According to noted economists, it could run in to trillions of dollars. And this is a war which cannot be won for the simple reason that there do not seem to be any objective in it. Did it reduce terrorism? Did anyone get cheap oil? Did it improve the life of Iraqis? Did it achieve anything other than breaking the US economy, sacrificing nearly 4150 US soldiers and making Iran a prominent player in the middle east?
Before the invasion, the estimate of the cost was less than $200 Billion. Now the estimate for bailing out wall street is $700 Billion. Hope this time they have their estimates right.
I feel great today, so I will post the lyrics of this Beatles song. I like the Beatles. This song I liked for its general idea long back even when my English was non existent, for all practical purposes.
Oh yeh, oh yeh. Imagine, I'm in love with you, It's easy 'cos I know, I've imagined I'm in love with you, Many, many, many times before. It's not like me to pretend, But I'll get you in the end, Yes I will, I'll get you in the end, oh yeh, oh yeh. I think about you night and day, I need you 'cos it's true. When I think about you, I can say, I'm never, never, never, never blue. So I'm telling you, my friend, That I'll get you, I'll get you in the end, Yes I will, I'll get you in the end, oh yeh, oh yeh. Well, there's gonna be a time, Well I'm gonna change your mind. So you might as well resign yourself to me, oh yeh. Imagine, I'm in love with you, It's easy 'cos I know, I've imagined I'm in love with you, Many, many, many times before. It's not like be to pretend, But I'll get you in the end, Yes I will, I'll get you in the end, oh yeh, oh yeh.
I started this blog to reply to provocative blogs here. Looks like at present no one holds any grudge towards me I always found it difficult thinking up something to post in blog on a regular basis. How long can I keep narrating old stories of college and stuff like that And writing is never an easy task for me. May be I should take a break or slow down a bit...
