once upon a time the colors of the world started to quarrel. All claimed that they were the best;the most important, the most useful, the favorite
green said: "clearly i am the most important. I am the sign of life and of hope. I was chosen for grass, trees and leaves. Without me, all .b..b. anima ./b.l./b.s would die. Look over the countryside and you will see that i am in the majority."
blue interrupted: "you only think about the earth, but consider the sky and the sea. It is the water that is the basis of life and drawn up by the clouds from the deep sea. The sky gives space and peace and serenity. Without my peace, you would all be nothing."
yellow chuckled: "you are all so serious. I bring laughter, gaiety, and warmth into the world. The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, the stars are yellow. Every time you look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile. Without me there would be no fun."
orange started next to blow her trumpet: "i am the color of health and strength. I may be scarce, but i am precious for i serve the needs of human life. I carry the most important vitamins. Think of carrots, pumpkins, oranges, mangoes, and papayas. I don't hang around all the time, but when i fill the sky at sunrise or sunset, my beauty is so striking that no one gives another thought to any of you."
red could stand it no longer, he shouted out: "i am the ruler of all of you. I am blood - life's blood! I bring fire into the blood. I am willing to fight for a cause. I am the color of danger and of bravery. Without me, the earth would be as empty as the moon. I am the color of passion and of love, the red rose, the poinsettia and the poppy."
purple rose up to his full height: he was very tall and spoke with great pomp: "i am the color of royalty and power. Kings, chiefs, and bishops have always chosen me, for i am the sign of authority and wisdom. People do not question me! They listen and obey."
finally indigo spoke, much more quietly than all the others, but with just as much determination: "think of me. I am the color of silence. You hardly notice me, but without me you all become superficial. I represent thought and reflection, twilight and deep water. You need me for balance and contrast, for prayer and inner peace."
so the colors went on boasting, each convinced of his or her own superiority. Their quarreling became louder and louder. Suddenly there was a startling flash of bright lightening.
Thunder rolled and boomed. Rain started to pour down relentlessly. The colors crouched down in fear, drawing close to one another for comfort. In the midst of the clamor, rain began to speak: "you foolish colors, fighting amongst yourselves, each trying to dominate the rest.
Don't you know that you were each made for a special purpose, unique and different? Join hands with one another and come to me." doing as they were told, the colors united and joined hands.
The rain continued: "from now on, when it rains, each of you will stretch across the sky in a great bow of color as a reminder that you can all live in peace. The rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow." and so, whenever a good rain washes the world, and a rainbow appears in the sky, let us remember to appreciate one another

A SEA CHANGE THAT BROKE THIS HEART I FELL FOR THAT EXTREMELY GENEROUS HEART I FELL FOR THAT MILLION DOLLAR SMILE I FELL FOR THAT BEAUTIFUL SOUL I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SPEND MY LIFE WITH U IN EXILE
BUT THE PERSON I SEE NOW IS SO DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE I USED TO KNOW LET'S NOT TALK ABT BEING FRIENDS UR NOT EVEN WORTH BEING A FOE
I C STREAKS OF CRUELTY AND RUTHLESSNESS TOO BAD CHARACTER N LACK OF CONCERN TO NAME A FEW
YOU'VE CHANGED SO MUCH AND SO FAST THAT TOO THAT I LAUGH AT MY CHOICE AND ASK MYSELF ''WHAT ON EARTH WAS WRONG WITH U?''
Its weird how sometime people who u've known all your life hardly mean anything to u.........n people u've known for barely few months start playing an important role in your life and suddenly they are the ones you want to share everything with. they are the ones who suddenly know everything about you and can read your mind. Sometimes people I’ve known forever just walk out of our lives and it hardly matters. U don’t once stop to think about them and then there are some these people u've barely known for few months are the ones u miss if u haven’t spoken for a few hrs. and prospective of getting to meet them the next day is enough to liven you up. Even their voice is enough 2 lift your spirits when your down. Such is d magic.................I guess it happens because we are destined to meet such people thanks to some sort of karmic connections and when we do we hit it off with them so well...that’s as if its as if we have known them all or lives. I don’t know what their purpose is... I don’t know if they make any difference at all in our lives...but they certainly make this life beautiful because its always good to have people who acre for u, and that’s the kind of feeling they show.............
I am an Indian citizen. One among 1 billion of us. When somebody bombs us we die. Just like Americans did when the Al Qaeeda drove their planes into the WTC. Just like Londoners did when terrorists attacked the city last July. But while Americans have the right to retaliate and bomb Afghanistan off the face of the map because the terrorists HQ was based there, we Indians have to negotiate, talk, send peace buses, and "build confidence" with the government across our border - the Pakistanis who are supporting the terrorists with money and explosives. The world applauds how resilient we are in the face of our tragedy, how quickly we go back to "normalcy". Ironically we ourselves applaud our resilience. The fact is that the world expects us to be less than human hey you fellow, so what if you lost your colleague, friend, partner, husband, wife or brother, get on with it old chap, that's it my boy! No time to mourn. No time to fume and rail at the injustice being meted out, no time to even call the terrorists the filthiest of names, no time to give incompetent politicians and policemen, intelligence agencies and the powers-be a piece of our mind. (Shivraj Patil, our honorable defense minister said something to the effect that we knew that an attack was planned but we didn't know the time and place. Really! What did he expect - a phone call from the terrorists giving him the details of the local trains, timings and compartments in which the explosives would be kept?) We also have to prove to the world that we are RESILIENT. Be happy with Musharraf's "quick condemnation" and go back to the business of dealing with old betrayers. After all we cannot "change the region's positive course", as LA Times' editorial put it. So what if a few hundred Indians die -Indians who are not into big time negotiations. Indians who just want to earn their living and return home to their families after a hard day's work. But well no, Musharraf and his terrorist friends will deny them the luxury of going back to his family because en route the train blows up! And our incompetent politicians and policemen will let terrorists do their horrific jobs and launch a hunt post-facto... So Bombayites died for a cause: for the peace of the region! As did Delhi-ites last year before Diwali. As did people in Bangalore when Pakistan-supported terrorists hit the city. As did Indian tourists who had gone to Srinagar for a holiday.... And as will many many more will die...Wow, that’s some consolation! If you feel as angry about what's happening to us, please feel free to pass this on. If your reaction is: "hey nothing is going to change - this is India," feel free to delete the mail!

Time and again you tried to disturb us and disrupt our life - killing innocent civilians by planting bombs in trains, buses and cars. You have tried hard to bring death and destruction, cause panic and fear and create communal disharmony but everytime you were disgustingly unsuccessful. Do you know how we pass our life in Mumbai? How much it takes for us to earn that single rupee? If you wanted to give us a shock then we are sorry to say that you failed miserably in your ulterior motives. Better look elsewere, not here.
We are not Hindus and Muslims or Gujaratis and Marathis or Punjabis and Bengaliies. Nor do we distinguish ourselves as owners or workers, govt. employees or private employees. WE ARE MUMBAIKERS (Bombay-ites, if you like). We will not allow you to disrupt our life like this. On the last few occassions when you struck (including the 7 deadly blasts in a single day killing over 250 people and injuring 500+ in 1993), we went to work next day in full strength. This time we cleared everything within a few hours and were back to normal - the vendors placing their next order, businessmen finalizing the next deals and the office workers rushing to catch the next train. (Yes the same train you targetted)
Fathom this: Within 3 hours of the blasts, long queues of blood donating volunteers were seen outside various hospital, where most of the injured were admitted. By 12 midnight, the hospital had to issue a notification that blood banks were full and they didn't require any more blood. The next day, attendance at schools and office was close to 100%, trains & buses were packed to the brim, the crowds were back. The city has simply dusted itself off and moved one - perhaps with greater vigour.
We are Mumbaikers and we live like brothers in times like this. So, do not dare to threaten us with your crackers. The spirit of Mumbai is very strong and can not be harmed.
With Love, From the people of Mumbai (Bombay)
P.S. Please forward this to others. U never know, by chance it may come to hands of a terrorist in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq and he can then read this message which is specially meant for him!!!
A woman was working in a post office in California. One day she licked the envelopes and postage stamps instead of using a sponge. That very day the lady found a cut on her tongue. A week later, she noticed an abnormal swelling of her tongue. She went to the doctor, and they found nothing wrong. Her tongue was not sore or anything. A couple of days later, her tongue started to swell more, and it began to get really sore, so sore, that she could not eat. She went back to the hospital, and demanded something be done. The doctor took an x-ray of her tongue and noticed a lump. He prepared her for minor surgery. When the doctor cut her tongue open, a live cockroach crawled out!!!! There were cockroach eggs on the seal of the envelope. The egg was able to hatch inside of her tongue, because of her saliva. It was warm and moist... This is a true story reported on CNN
Please take few minutes to read this one, then make your own decision.
Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavorings.
DO YOU KNOW...the difference between margarine and butter? Read on to the end...gets very interesting!
Margarine...
*Very high in trans fatty acids (Trans fat is a double-edged weapon. It increases bad cholesterol & destroys good cholesterol!)
*Triples risk of coronary heart disease.
*Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.
*Lowers quality of breast milk.
*Decreases immune response.
*Decreases insulin response.
*Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.
Here's the most disturbing fact....AND THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!
Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..
This fact alone is enough to avoid margarine for life! And anything that is hydrogenated including hydrogenated oil (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance) .
You can try this yourself: Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:
* No flies, not even those pesky fruit flies ever go near it (that should tell you something).
* It does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value; nothing grows on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms do not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?
And now Butter & Margarine ...
*Both have the same amount of calories.
*Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.
*Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods. Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!
*Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.
*Butter is nature's creation and has been around for centuries while margarine is man-made product and has been around for less than 100 years.
